    The Johannesburg based practice is associated with the adult neuro population. The caseload includes mostly dysphagia intervention as well as speech, language and communication post brain injury. Day-to-day tasks include assessments, report writing (particularly motivation to medical aids) as well as feedback and subsequent therapy. Therapy settings include acute hospital, out-patient as well as home visits. Within the hospital setting, it was expected to attend ward rounds, assist on FEES studies and conduct MBS studies independently. Therapy was also provided within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team context.

    The practice is mostly associated with the school-aged population, with a special interest in Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). A team of Audiologist and Speech-Language Therapists work closely together at the practice. The case-load includes mostly early intervention, learning difficulties, CAPD, articulation and phonological processes, dysfluency and voice disorders. Day-to-day tasks include school screenings, full assessments, report writing and feedback and intervention. Additional responsibilities include running of the monthly internal journal club, organizing of the resources, writing up practice policies and protocols, conducting presentations at schools and establishing adult neuro referral patterns within surrounding hospitals.
