    CCFS is a large, multi-purpose agency offering Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, job training, food bank and housing services in the San Gabriel Valley, Glendale, South Central Los Angeles, and Lassen and Madera Counties. CCFS is also the Community Action Agency for the Pasadena/Foothill Region.Center for Community and Family Services, Inc. (CCFS) is the Head Start grantee for the West San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County whose mission is to assist low-income families break the cycle of poverty through achieving more economic self-sufficiency. Our Head Start program currently serves 1,223 children and families in Pasadena, Altadena, and Glendale . We have 206 employees at 13 sites (40 classrooms) throughout our service area. CCFS Early Head Start serves 60 families with children ages 0-3 including services to a rotating group of 8 pregnant women throughout the program year. We have been a leader in providing quality services for children and families in our communities for 35 years.

    The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) was established in 1976 by the University of California to expand postsecondary education opportunities for California’s educationally disadvantaged students. EAOP is an academic preparation program that works collaboratively with families, educators, schools, communities, and various campus departments to provide students with challenging academic enrichment activities to promote and cultivate a college-going culture. UCLA EAOP works with students to help them become competitively eligible applicants for college admission, going beyond minimum eligibility. EAOP is one of the state’s most successful pre-collegiate student academic development programs. UCLA’s EAOP works with over 15,000 students in middle school and high school each year. This includes working with over 80 high schools and middle schools in 10 school districts. Since 1991, approximately 60% of EAOP seniors meet UC eligibility each year, 82% attend a postsecondary institution upon high school graduation and 62% attend a 4-year institution, with 25% attending a UC school.
