Responsible for the direction and leadership for enterprise, business support growth sectors, inward investment, aftercare and business engagement functions of the Economy & Tourism service :Key duties include:•Management and direction of enterprise, business support and inward investment (of up to 25) staff , projects and programmes •Design, development and management of £10m plus Regeneration programmes for Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, SRB,WNF and ERDF•Development and implementation of policy, procedures and guidance within the department, across the council and with external partners•Development of effective partnerships both within and beyond the council to continually improve service outputs and drive change•Management & delivery of expert professional services to business clients, to staff across the council, to partners, councillors and external partners•Management and delivery of proactive and co-ordinated services to corporate decision- makers who are considering investment and development in Sefton; and ensure provision of aftercare•To ensure appropriate linkages with sub-regional,regional and national enterprise and investment support networks,where appropriate represent Sefton on relevant groups and boards•Indentify and procure resources to support the operation of the service and associated projects; manage relevant budgets and ensure performance outputs are achieved•Ensure that the business support function is operated in accordance with all relevant legislation, contractual obligations, financial regulations and policy guidance•Monitor and manage team performance to maintain appropriate standards of delivery which meet customer, service and council requirements and expectations•Foster a culture of innovation and problem solving to deliver excellent services to a wide range of customers and partners

Also designed and delivered a range of external funded capital grant programmes for business using a mix of Government and EU funding.Established several key business networks in south Sefton and was part of successful £22m LEGI bid team with Liverpool City Council managing all Sefton business consultation, liaison and bid input.
