In April 2016 I retired from Scotiabank after 32 years. The first half of my career was in Corporate Banking in Halifax, Toronto and Calgary (where I served as Head during 1997-99) and the second half was in Investment Banking in Calgary. In the years prior to retirement I was MD-IB; which was the senior person covering a group of 15-20 clients. The clients were a cross section within the oil & gas industry (senior/intermediate/junior e&p, oil sands, midstream/pipeline). Primary responsibility for the origination and execution of advisory services and equity issuance. Secondary responsibility for the origination of bank credit (conventional, bridge, TLB), term debt (investment grade & high yield; Canadian & US markets), and derivatives. For the period 2006-2016, I served as Financial Advisor to Boards/companies on M&A transactions aggregating over $28 billion.
