Vine Hill Elementary School151 Vine Hill School Road(831) 438-1090As Life Lab Instructor I was able to offer gardening and life science teachings to students in a beautiful "hands on" environment. Students ranged from pre-kindergarteners through fifth grade classes using common core standards. All the lessons were age appropriate. I looked after and maintained the garden, its grounds and its equipment. We tended to the gardens forty organic raised garden beds, three fruit trees, sprinkler systems, green house, tool shed, hot and cold compost area, and a rain water conservation area. We also kept the grounds free of safety hazards and made the grounds accessible to all students, including children with disabilities and special needs. We created a nature sanctuary out of the unused storage area in the back of the garden. We removed broken benches and wood as well as cleaned up the shrubberies and grounds. We also brought in a stump circle which was a great place to gather the class for a lesson, story or to meet living animal guests. We installed a small animal sanctuary which included bird houses, bird feeders, bat houses, and butterfly houses. We also planted native flowers to attract butterflies, painted a floral mural on the back of the tool shed, created a music station and installed an outdoor chalkboard. During my tenure, the Life Lab and its curriculum were completely transformed. As a result we received the "Scotts Valley Beautification of The Year Award" in 2015 from the Scotts Valley Chamber Of Commerce. We prided ourselves on having the kids understand just where their food comes from as well as the importance of respecting all living things. The children all had a chance to plant seeds, tend to their garden bed, harvest the vegetables and then eat them.

Harbor Supportive Living Services1395 41st Ave. Capitola, Ca. 95010(831) 462-6194As a caregiver, I provided care to an adult male who was non-verbal with developmental disabilities. Other responsibilities included administering scheduled daily medicines, bathing, dressing and diapering. I also insured that he had a clean and healthy living environment. In addition, I was responsible for purchasing food and other supplies for the home. I prepared healthy meals adequate for the client's modified soft food diet and provided physical support for his exercise routine. We practiced walking stairs almost every time we were together. I happily provided companionship as well as transportation to appointments and other outings. I also introduced him to water color painting, audio books and activities on the iPad. I was also responsible for providing written and verbal daily reports and taking care of any hazard or safety issues that came up. I participated in four training classes which included behavioral, sexual, health, and safety training.

Culver Theatres Inc.226 Mt. Hermon Road, Scotts Valley, Ca. 95066In 2005 the owner of the movie theater, Gary Culver began to expand his operations from just one movie theater to five, which included Scotts Valley, 41st Avenue, Aptos, Hanford and Selma Cinemas. When this expansion occurred, the owner asked me to come back and I was promoted to Corporate Secretary. My duties included processing all payroll, payroll tax deposits, and accounts payable. I worked directly with the film companies, seeing that film rents and dues were paid, and took care of the daily bookkeeping and data entry.
