Oversee three units within the CTS Infrastructure and Operations department including Network Services, System Administration and Endpoint Services. Responsible for planning, managing, administering and organizing IT projects, as well as other important departmental management activities. Serve as a resource to all campuses in North Dakota by working with NDUS campus CIO’s and IT staff to assist in meeting the needs of faculty, staff, and students. Key Results:•Prepare for functional consolidation legislative mandate by working as part of the CTS functional consolidation team to develop processes, policies, and procedures to ensure a seamless process.•Work with the functional consolidation team and campuses to gather technical information to determine systems that could be consolidated to the NDUS data center. •Review current server, storage, and datacenter networking to determine future direction of the next generation data center. This review was completed to meet current needs while ensuring that expansion for functional consolidation will be seamless.•Review new NDUS CTS standards regarding server, desktop, and security standards and develop plans to meet requirements.•Working to improving teamwork and collaboration within teams and between teams.•Due to high staff turnover in the Systems Administration unit, positions were reviewed to ensure adequate coverage of systems and staff received cross-training where needed. •Reviewed staff in the System Administration unit to ensure that the right staff were in the right positions to allow for collaboration and success of the unit, position changes were made where necessary. •Directly oversee technical staff that provide support for the High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment. Work with the HPC Specialist to meet the needs of researchers at UND.•Work with UND and CTS Network Services to plan the UND Campus Network Upgrade which is anticipated to be completed in August 2016.

Responsible and accountable for all aspects of technology support including desktop support, server support, specialty application support, security, user training, and encouraged the adoption of innovative technologies. At ResNet, exceptional technology support was provided for student living on campus.Key Results:•Created the Student Affairs Technology Services department by merging multiple technology staff into an effective team. Set the mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and direction for IT in the Division. •Support provided to 1,000 staff and 4,000 students living on campus, equipment includes more than 800 desktop computers, peripheral equipment, end user networking support in 13 residence halls, more than 40 servers, 75 digital signs, and specialty support.•Responsible for the department’s leadership, supervising 6 full-time employees and 12 student employees, led IT budget planning, and provided vision for technology initiatives for the Division.•Successful implementation and support of electronic medical records and lab information system for UND Student Health Service.•Served as the technology expert on construction projects such as Wilkerson Commons, the Memorial Union, and residence hall remodels making recommendations on state-of-the art technology for students, faculty and staff.•Set guidelines for computer security in the division, trained users, and coordinated changes needed.•Maintained an effective working relationship with internal and external constituents including the Center for Instructional Learning Technologies, Core Technology Services, campus CIO, IT departments on campus, vendors, architects, and contractors.

ODNA (Operations Division Network Alliance) provides technology support to 14 departments within the Finance and Operations Division of UND.
