Marine Engineering
-
Mar 1979 - Jun 2002
I completed 23 years and 4 months service in Royal Australian Navy where I worked on both steam and diesel vessels within the Marine Engineering sector. This has gave me the breadth of experience which I believe can only be of value to my future employer. Good working relationships and being a team player have always been integral to my work. I have built on the initial technical training I received in the Navy, by continuing to develop these skills in my follow-on career. In summary, during my employment in the Royal Australian Navy from (1979 – 2002) I completed numerous Marine Engineering and development courses. My employment was divided between various naval vessels and shore establishments around Australia. I was employed within various Administration duties and management positions, Department Head, watch keeping duties which included but not limited to Boiler Room (High Pressure Boiler Ticket), Engineering officer of the watch, (Engine room ticket). It varied from engineering duties with overall control of the safe operation, monitoring and planned maintenance of machinery to managing department assets, coordinating major maintenance routines of ships, project management, resource management, Building maintenance and management, training and mentoring staff to get the best outcomes, and Chief Engineer (Senior Technical Officer) of a vessel.
