Working for Gestamp (Tallent) Aycliffe to manufacture chassis and suspension components for automotive (Ford, JLR, Volvo)The role takes the lead in the project management of automotive chassis projects, securing and maintaining capital budget, starting at design concept phase taking the lead in DFM and PFMEA lifecycle and seeing this through until start of production, a large project would typically have £800k to £3 million capital expenditure and last 24-36 months. Project management of the installation includes not only the equipment but supporting infrastructure and then leading into integration of new equipment and processes into the Aycliffe plant, this entails empowering and motivating multifunctional teams and also managing external suppliers ensuring that project milestones are achieved.Collaboration with the commercial and purchasing teams is an active responsibility during the quotation and acquisition phase agreeing to cost and timing is in line with program deliverable.Organisation and chair of the project meetings managing milestone attainment and gateway timing. Reporting of project status to senior management in accordance with scheduled program reviews and raising any risks to mitigate program scope creep. Manage budget spend and track costs associated with each project
