    The Stronach Group is a diversified international entertainment, real estate, and services company with over 2,300 employees and assets in excess of $1.5 billion. In my role I served as a general counsel for Stronach’s corporate assets worldwide, while also streamlining operations for domestic and international properties such as Hallandale Beach’s Gulfstream Park. As leader of the legal team, I am responsible for establishing and upholding legal policy, direct outside counsel in labor, employment, land use, patents, environmental issues and litigation, negotiating contracts, leading collective bargaining, and overseeing risk management and anti-money-laundering (AML) compliance. I also serve on the company’s Executive Management Committee as Corporate Secretary.In this position, I have:• Assisted in over $500 million in real estate development, with another $400 million in the pipeline.• Devised and implemented several process and operational efficiencies improving the profitability of Gulfstream Park and other Stronach properties.• Brought anti-money laundering compliance processes in-house, instituting essential controls and processes.• Developed a centralized contract management system improving contract compliance and enabling non-legal staff to execute agreements.• Cleared over 200 outstanding code violations at Gulfstream Park through collaboration with city officials and implementation of several process improvements. I averted over $20 million in potential capital expenditures by spearheading and obtaining state exemptions.• Negotiated with the EPA and other government agencies.• Successfully defended several patent and trademark infringement lawsuits.• Led negotiations with labor unions in 15 collective bargaining sessions.• Implemented talent management and succession planning strategies.

    Stronach Group is the parent company of AmTote International, a provider of systems software and hardware for gaming and other industries.With AmTote between 1997 and 2007, I was promoted multiple times with increasing legal and operational responsibilities. The following are some of my accomplishments during this time period:• Negotiated AmTote’s $12 million sale to the publicly traded Magna Group.• Forged multiple joint venture and strategic alliance agreements. In doing so, I created new markets for AmTote’s technology.• Structured and managed the company’s legal departments. • Renegotiated AmTote’s banking facilities following bankruptcy. I was able to obtain favorable lines of credit for the company.• Instituted cyber security policies and procedures. The company passed eight successive audits.
