The role included keeping senior management and the Board apprised of progress and developments.Assisting a major domestic Australian airline with the proposed transfer of its ownership of domestic airport terminals to a third party operator. Role included negotiating, reviewing and determining legal and documentary requirements. -Negotiation of a new long term commercial office lease for a large Australian gold miner and project managing all aspects of the proposed relocation. A new long-term lease over existing facilities was concluded involving savings of more than AU$500,000. Total contract value AU$5M.-Implementation of a new credit card facility for a large Australian mining company including reviewing potential suppliers, negotiating contract terms with the preferred supplier and streamlined the payment process for corporate expenditure.-Negotiation of new contract terms in relation to a major mining company’s air travel and related services. The client’s annual spend was $5M-$7.5M. Savings delivered of around $750,000.-Reviewing the air travel arrangements of a major Australian building company. Project was broad in scope including all facets of the client’s air travel including a functional review of the process, contract tendering and negotiation. New contract concluded with resultant savings in excess of AU$500,000 together with improved internal processes.-Advising a joint venture partner on legal and commercial issues in relation to the construction of infrastructure for a gold mine in Indonesia. Project value to the client was US$35M.

Review of WMC’s corporate contracts resulting in new contracts, which substantially reduced costs while simultaneously increasing service levels;Heading up the Supply Improvement Project which reviewed the W.A. Operations Supply function (annual spend of AU$400M on goods and services). Project included a review of the supply process; establishment of key performance indicators; analysis of inventory levels; establishment of a contract review program. As part of this program, I headed up a team that conducted a benchmarking trip to the United States;Amalgamation of WMC’s Melbourne offices and relocation of the Perth office to the CBD. Both projects involved commitments of around 8000 square metres of commercial office space, each with project values in excess of $10M. Included project management, contract negotiations and documentation and selection and management of all external advisers;Negotiate and document major IT contract. As part of the Supply Improvement Project, WMC implemented the SAP supply, maintenance and finance modules. This involved a substantial capital commitment.
