    I began this role with Elementary Digital in April 2018, as it offered a great opportunity for me to further advance my web development skills. In this role, I primarily focus on WordPress development, including taking ownership of new website projects, as well as providing ongoing support and maintenance to existing client websites.My work for Elementary Digital has allowed me to develop my technical skills further, providing me with greater experience in development techniques and methodologies, including the Agile method of software development. I have also gained exposure to "Dev-ops" techniques such as automated deployment from version control systems, more advanced Git flow techniques, and collaborative development methods. At Elementary Digital I am working as part of a ~20 person development team, the largest that I have had experience of, and this has allowed me to enhance my experience of collaborative development and issue tracking.

    Initially in this role, I was working as part of a small team, and later, I began to lead a new team due to staffing changes. This role has allowed me to greatly expand my web development skills, as well as my team-leading and project management skills.In this role, I have personally worked on, or overseen, internal and external web application projects. These include an automated system to collect search engine ranking data for keywords specified by some of our SEO clients; a system to check the current status of various 3rd party services that are offered to some of HW Technology's clients and alert us when these are unavailable; and a dual application, with an android component to allow a client to collect data, and a web component to allow them to analyse the data.There are also various legacy systems that have been developed some years past - I am responsible for managing and maintaining these systems, and updating and modernising them where appropriate.HW Technology maintain roughly 40 individual websites, and this is the sole responsibility of myself and my team. This involves performing updates to CMS systems and related plugins, regular content updates, as well as security improvements and general server maintenance.This includes maintenance for the main website of the Haines Watts group - www.hwca.com. This website comprises a national website covering the brand in general, and around 60 sub-sites covering the various individual offices across the United Kingdom. This involves working closely with the Haines Watts national marketing team, as well as each of the individual offices.As leader of the web development team, I am also responsible for writing proposals for new web development projects. I work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to attract new clients, and win projects. I am expected to take the initiative, and come up with my own methods both to generate new leads, and also to win projects from those and other leads.

    I was employed by Codemasters Software Limited on a temporary basis as a QA technician. In this role, I was required to test pre-release video games under development by the company, following a test plan to discover bugs and faults in the game code. I would thenbe required to report these bugs and record them on the company database, later to be reviewed and verified as fixed. This position helped me gain valuable insight into the video game development cycle, as well as further developing my technical skills, particularly relating to database software, and improving my attention to detail.
