Involved in all facets of Manufacturing in a shop of 60 employees running over $7 million worth of state of the art C.N.C. Machining Centers, Turning Centers and Grinders. My duties included:● Production: Involved with the plant manager scheduling equipment on a just-in-time philosophy.● Supervision: In charge of General Shop Supervision of employees, ensuring production levels were maintained and safety procedures were followed.● Quality: For 2yrs at GLM I acted as Quality Manager along with the rest of my duties. I started the Quality Manual and completed most of the in process prints for each part in every operation. Throughout my employment I worked closely with Q.C. improving our processes and training employees on the proper use and care of our inspection equipment.● Engineering: My engineering functions included: C.A.D. Drawings for all new parts and all in process drawings. This has given me the opportunity to use CadKey, AutoCad, Ashlar Vellum 3D, and Ashlar Drawing Board running on Windows and Mac computer systems. I also worked on buying and testing all machine tooling and I was involved in the purchase of new Machine Tools.● Machining: I was responsible for programming, set-up, and tooling(perishable and fixtures). Operating 22 V.M.C.’s, 21 of which are full 4th axis(12 Hitachi Seiki, 8 Takisawa, and 2 Mazak), 8 Horizontal Turning Centers(8 Hitachi Seiki), 2 automated turning cells(Hitachi Seiki with MR6 robot), 1 HMC(Hitachi Seiki HG400), and 1 Centerless Grinder(Cincinatti Milicron RK-350 Twin Grip). I am also fluent in a multitude of machine languages such as: Fanuc(15M, 10M, OM, OT), Yasnac(MX3, LX3), Mazatrol (CAM M32), Seiki Multi, Seikos, Allen Bradley, and Macro Programming. I am capable of running all tool room equipment and I own my own tools.●Maintenance: I preformed many maintenance duties. I can correctly diagnose and repair many Machine Tool problems on the N.C. and P.C. sides of the machine.

C.N.C. Machinist / Tool and Die Apprentice

In my 3 years with Letsch I gained a wealth of knowledge. I started as a tool and die apprentice. I worked daily with highly skilled tool makers who taught me the proper way to approach and complete any job set before me. I was taught the proper use and care of all the tools of the trade as well as to read and understand blueprints. When C.N.C. machines were purchased I was the first to volunteer to run them. It wasn’t long before I had taught myself to set-up, run, and program our Mori Seiki, Mazak, and Hamai H.M.C.'s and V.M.C.’s.
