Designing and analysis of routing protocols in Vehicular Ad Hoc networks for ITS applications.Vehicular traffic modeling and routing optimization in network of highways.Performance modeling and analysis of Medium Access Control in Vehicular Ad Hoc networks for ITS safety applications.Collaborated in Real-Time Data Capture and Management research program by U.S. department of transportation, research and innovative technology administration (RITA).Proposed, simulated and implemented a new QoS-based routing protocol for multi-service wireless mesh networks employed in industrial environment - SECURINET project manager – in collaboration with UQAT university, Val D’or, Quebec, Canada and supported by PROMPT (Partnerships for Research on Microelectronics, Photonics and Telecommunications in Quebec).

Studied and researched UMTS and GPRS core and access network technologies and standards (SGSN, GGSN, MSC, HLR, VLR, … ) and protocols. Analyzed and simulated performance of core GPRS and UMTS protocol stack (SGSN, GGSN and UTRAN) with NS (Network Simulator) software and C++.Designed and simulated a DiffServ QoS mechanism in GPRS MAC layer using GTP header. Designined, simulated, cross-validation and exploitation of real time frame work to evaluate QoS and QoE in UTRAN.Worked with CiscoWorks Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) to evaluate end-to-end network performance problems and to locate and diagnose congestion and latency problems utilizing real time and historical statistics.Participated in the empirical project of “characterizing backhaul traffic in 3G networks using real-world speech”.Participated in GSM pilot projects to measure the coverage range and investigated Diversity, splitting and sectoring techniques.Conducted feasibility of Implementation of GPRS network on current IRAN GSM network.Implement network solutions for GSM network in terms of capacity planning.
