    Looked in to the effect of population density on dispersal, territory size, and relatedness within social groups of the cooperative breeding New Zealand pukeko. Did two trips, totaling 8 months, to New Zealand to conduct field work.· During those visits captured and banded over 250 pūkeko, extracted blood from both adults and chicks, recorded observational notes, and collected data· The overall goal of the field work was to collect data pertinent to the proposed hypotheses in a hope to resolve unanswered scientific questions, therefore enhancing available knowledge· Guided a new graduate student through how to collect data for her thesis as well as teaching her the techniques for properly capturing, banding, and sampling the birds
