    Agriculture forms the economic backbone of Bangladesh which contributes about one third of the country's GDP. Approximately 84% of the country's total population is directly or indirectly dependent on agriculture and agro-based activities for their livelihood. The country has a population of about 160 million. Its average population density is the highest in the world. To feed these people there is no other alternative to increasing yield per unit area. Considering this point of view, the management of Runner Group took initiative to establish agro based industry in the country. As a result Runner Agro Products Ltd (RAPL) has emerged in early 2010.RAPL is repacking different bands of pesticides and micro fertilizer in its own factory after importing from different foreign countries and marketing the same within Bangladesh. To meet the International Standards, maximum emphasis is given on high quality and environment aspects of different products of RAPL.RAPL intends to help the farmers of the country to produce more, grow sustainable yield per unit area and feed the growing population. RAPL offer products with very competitive price, duly addressing the environment, quality and reliability requirements of the market.The agro products plant is established at BHALUKA, which is about 80 km from Dhaka City. The total plant area is about 27000 sq. meters. The space for agro chemicals repacking plant is 600 sq. meters. Establishment of a formulation plant is under process.
