On the Scholarships Team, I advised scholars on visa processes (J-1 and Australian) as well as other aspects of their programs. I assisted in the application process, including reviewing, scoring, scheduling interviews, notetaking and notifying applicants of results. I also assisted in the preparation and implementation of the annual Orientation and Gala programming.As a Communications Officer, I managed the social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram). I created content for 65 social media posts in six months, and for the quarterly newsletter. I also edited current scholar and alumni stories for a biannual report for the largest private donor.

For my master's degree, I conducted an alumni impact survey for the first time in the 73-year history of the Commission and issued a research report with recommendations to advance the Commission's goals. In addition, I updated the Mid-Term and Final Reports, making it easier to track and analyze responses. I created systems for Final Report analysis to assist in communications, alumni outreach, and board notes. I also reinstituted the pastoral care of the current scholars through communications and tracking.

In this role, I supported college and university study abroad offices, with a special focus on one of IES Abroad’s largest senders. Also, at that university’s request, I spent a week in Barcelona to assist their 120 incoming students.I frequently traveled to US universities, meeting with students, faculty and staff to promote study abroad. This included attending fairs, hosting office hours and presentations, and supporting college staff’s efforts. I analyzed conversion rates and other data to provide insight into prospective and enrolled students, universities, and programs with the goal of creating recommendations for more efficient and effective recruiting and advising.I promoted study abroad by recruiting and assisting prospective students, including writing enticing and fun communications.I stepped in to advise for programs in Salamanca and Barcelona and took a lead role in organizing the tracking of students’ Spanish visa applications.
