One of Maureen's proudest moments was when she joined the Molloy College community, starting Fall 2012 semester. Molloy is Maureen's Alma Mater. Maureen's energy has always focused on serving the Molloy Business students, so that they can live the professional life they desire and deserve. Maureen's accomplishments include creating the gemstone of the business program, which is the Capstone Consulting Experience. The graduate and undergraduate students become consultants for an organization on Long Island, that serves our society (e.g., Not-for-profit organization, government agency, or incorporated village). The students take on a real-world problem that their client identifies. The students must use all of their skills, knowledge, and their disposition for social good, to study the problem and solve it. There are organizations throughout Long Island that have benefited from this experience; but the real winners are the students who leave Molloy 'head & shoulders' above contemporaries with the same degree from other schools. Also, Maureen led the School of Business toward its accreditation; built a healthy and meaningful Online Program, and expanded the NYSED Programs that Molloy Business offers. Maureen serves with, and supports, the most talented faculty on Long Island; she is proud to call them colleagues. Maureen established a Scholarship, 'The Mackenzie Capstone Leadership Award,' which recognizes annually a graduate student that demonstrates not just leadership, but team-work and colleagiality. Full Professor of Management and Leadership, Dowling College
-
Aug 2012 - Aug 2013
One of the saddest times of Maureen's life was to watch her beloved Dowling College fail. This is a story that colleges must take seriously. The students that emerged from Dowling were, and still are, amazing. The education that was provided, especially from the School of Business, prepared each student to lead. The loss of Dowling College from the Long Island landscape is a story of leadership-lost and not focusing on the warning signs. The Dowling story can be any small college's story. Maureen still stay close to so many of her Dowling Colleagues as they serve students from many colleges!

-
Associate Professor of Management and Leadership
-
Sep 2001 - Aug 2012
These 11 years at Dowling were meaningful. Maureen served as an elected member of the Faculty Senate (FAS) for 9 of her 11 years at Dowling. She was elected by the college-wide faculty to serve as the Chair of the Curriculum Committee over all four schools. During that time she led the re-development of the General Education Program for all students. Maureen also served on the college-wide Faculty Personnel Committee and the Honors Advisory Council. One of the earliest projects was to serve on the IACBE accreditation team. Maureen's research to assess Long Island employers' desires for college graduates guided the accreditation team to redesign its curriculum and create the needed assessment. The article was ultimately published as a journal article. Maureen authored, with her Dean, all of the NYSED Applications to build a fully distanced-education system at Dowling. The College-union signed an MOU with college leadership to name Maureen as the Faculty Advisor for all online activities. Maureen successfully created both the legitimate processes as well as develop the culture for the faculty.Maureen had served as the advisor for the Business Society, which is the club for undergraduate business students. The mock-interviews established for business students significantly prepared students for their real-world journey. Most often Maureen taught graduate students: Leadership, Advanced Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behavior. Dowling College was an amazing college. Its loss to Long Island was significant. Many of Dowling faculty would go back to this wonderful culture - in a heartbeat. Everyone misses Dowling so much. After 11 years Maureen left her full-time faculty position at Dowling College as Associate Professor Management and Leadership and redefined her role as an Adjunct/Full Professor. She then immediately joined the Molloy College faculty full-time as a Full Professor of Business with Tenure.
