      After completing my basic military and engineering trade training I was posted to RAF Wattisham where I was employed in the Rolls Royce Spey engine deep strip bay. After this I was posted to RAF Benson and worked in the gnome engine deep strip and test bay. I was then employed at RAF Coningsby in the RB199 engine deep strip bay, following this I completed a tour in Germany at RAF Brüggen where I was working on the visiting aircraft section. This involved working with both the RAF and foreign air forces co-ordinating the requirements for different types of aircraft. During this tour I was selected for further training and returned to the UK to complete an 8 month technician’s course.
