    Leadership of the Operations and Training Directorate for the Iowa Army National Guard, directly affecting approximately 6500 personnel. Provide input on operations orders directly influencing the conduct of training and the adherence to policy for all units across the State Commands. Coordination and synchronization of activities performed by the Operations and Training Directorate, including State-run and sanctioned competitions, community relations events and cooperative National Guard events.Development of policy and guidance for the expenditure of over a $40M budget, to conduct training and prepare units for mobilization. Implementation of the new physical fitness test for Iowa, last changed over 35 years ago. The new test involves additional equipment that will need to be sourced, allocated, and distributed to over 40 facilities in Iowa. Our project team will be required to resource additional training to prepare every unit for the new test. Senior Operations Advisor in the State of Iowa with policy decisions, such as readiness for future deployments, promotion and demotion decisions, retirement and career projections, training trends and development, and coordination between Commands for a broad range of operations and logistics needs.

    Led the deployment of 500 Soldiers to Fort Hood, Texas and then on to Kuwait/Iraq where the organization was utilized in five countries and twelve locations. The battalion provided theater-wide aviation logistical support to include: distribution of aircraft parts and fuel; aircraft maintenance; signal, network, and communication support; vehicle and ground support equipment maintenance; medical care; and, critical personnel staffing across twelve locations in Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Turkey.Organization increased theater supply movement by 200% and moved $42M dollars of equipment. Managed the movement of 11,000 passengers and $77M dollars in cargo weighing over 575,000 pounds through the air. Maintenance teams conducted inspections adding 5,280 flight hours to UH60 Blackhawks and 1,200 CH47 Chinook flight hours to the Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB). Provided continuous voice and data communication for the CAB throughout Kuwait, Iraq, and Syria. Logistical support from the battalion contributed to the CAB flying over 36,000 hours in support of combat operations. Advise senior leaders and staff on all matters pertaining to employees.Ensures adherence to command/organization polices, disseminating them to subordinate agencies to ensure successful completion of objective.Conducted leader development within the command, over 200 leaders and 150 future leaders.
