    I served as a key member of an inspiring team dedicated to fostering employment opportunities for folks with disabilities or other barriers to employment. In my role, I oversaw the operations of three impactful programs—PDD, GRiT, and 4WRD—leading a dynamic team of approximately 15 employees. Through strategic policy redevelopment, grant writing, conducting research and an environmental scan, and diligent goal-oriented efforts, I played a pivotal role in enhancing program effectiveness and achieving targets set by our funders. Throughout my tenure, I received consistent accolades related to my decision making, positivity, and commitment to mentoring from both the Executive Director and the team I supervised, underscoring my commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Despite the brevity of my tenure, I am proud of the significant contributions made during my four-month tenure.

    Bissell Centre empowers people to move from poverty to prosperity by enabling people to meet their own basic daily needs, participate in community, have sustainable livelihoods, feel hope for the future and make plans for a prosperous life.In this role, I oversaw e a number of special projects, as well as to our Housing Services, and Employment Services departments. Housing Services is made up of the Homeless to Homes program, the Community Bridge program, and the Outreach Housing Team. Homeless to Homes is a Housing First team that can support up to 160 formerly chronically homeless Edmontonians in their new homes and communities. The Community Bridge is a rapid response intervention that aims to stop an imminent eviction and provide interventions and services to ensure that causes of the eviction are effectively addressed in order to ward off reoccurrence. The Outreach Housing Team works to locate, engage, and house people who are homeless. Consisting of ten outreach workers, the team works in under-serviced and unreached areas of the city where homeless people congregate.Employment Services offers Casual Labour to both employers and employees, and pre-employment programs geared towards helping individuals to find employment.www.bissellcentre.org

    I facilitate a leadership team that manages Bissell Centre's Homeless to Homes, and 24/7 MAP teams. I am responsible for integrating the functions of the Manager positions between the 2 programs. This integrated structure is a prototype, therefor this position is on an interim basis for 6 months.Homeless to Homes consists of two distinct Housing First teams, with a total staffing complement of 14 FTE's and 4 Contract FTE's. Collectively we have the capacity to assist up to 170 formerly homeless individuals to maintain housing in market apartments.24/7 MAP is a 24 hour per day Assertive Outreach team. 8 Complex Support Workers collaborate with Police, ambulance, and other service providers to divert individuals from inappropriately accessing crisis services to more appropriate services, including housing.
