    As President of Ascent Translational Sciences, she assists clients with clinical and regulatory strategy development, integrating preclinical, clinical and market development programs to maximize commercial success. She has served as Acting Chief Medical Officer for companies focused on pulmonary, inflammatory, and thrombotic diseases. Dr. Russell works extensively with the investment community providing diligence-phase analysis and post investment transitional support across a range of clinical areas such as cardiovascular, central nervous system, gastro-intestinal, oncologic, obesity, women’s health and diagnostics.

    During her 6-year tenure as Boston Scientific’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Russell built an industry-leading preclinical, clinical and regulatory infrastructure that accelerated product approvals (approximately 5 PMAs, 25 IDEs, 25 510ks and 300 OUS approvals each year) across 7 divisions. Her indelible mark at Boston Scientific was leadership of the clinical development program culminating in TAXUS® Drug-Eluting Stent approvals world-wide. These 10 pre-and post-approval trials provided the data-driven basis for contemporary PCI guidelines, supported the most successful launch in medical device history and franchise expansion peaking at $3 billion/year.

    Academic Cardiologist at Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women’s Hospital with clinical, teaching and research roles. Her NIH and AHA funded basic research lab focused on novel vascular inflammatory mediators and was awarded patents & numerous investigator prizes.
