I was responsible for the receiving, testing, reviewing and release of raw materials in a busy lab catering for more than 200 materials. My work included a huge variation in testing techniques including wet chemistry, chromatography and the calibration of instruments and the use of several information systems.I was also involved in the writing and follow through of laboratory investigations and deviations, along with lab safety, retains and reference materials and the training of new analysts to the highest quality standards.

Worked in the In-Process Quality Control lab on a 4-cycle shift basis. Was part of a team who sampled, tested and released sample batches to meet the demands of a busy production line. Working the shift allowed for a varied work load. It afforded me the opportunity to step out of the lab and work in the production plant and also to engage with the people on the production line. This increased my interpersonal skills.
