I was responsible for creating a complete new suite of documentation to compliment the introduction of new Stage V emissions compliant machinery. Redesigning the O&M Manuals using the Madcap Flare authoring software making them easier to manage and facilitate simpler translation, producing a significant cost saving for the company.I was also responsible for ensuring the company remained compliant with all relevant legislation: Machinery Directive, Noise Emissions, Safety regulations etc. I maintained the comprehensive Technical Files necessary to produce a valid Declaration of Conformity, enabling the company to use the CE and UKCA markings on its products.

Headed a team of three authors in the UK, working in tandem with a similar team in the USA, to create a new System Description Section of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual for the Boeing 777X aircraft.Created a network between various UK and US locations to ensure that artists, illustrators, authors and SMEs worked efficiently together to produce a high quality document set which will be used as a reference document by airline engineering staff to learn about the 777X systems. The documents will also form the basis of the training courses run by Boeing Maintenance Training Teams.I took full responsibility for learning and then authoring the completely new Chapters dealing with the innovative Folding Wing Tip. In addition I covered hydraulic systems, fuel systems, flight control surface actuation, engine fuel and thrust reverser systems and the auxiliary power unit.

I was responsible for building new 'F700' aircraft log books for every Tornado that passed through the BAESystems depth maintenance facility. This included interpreting Engineering Authority advice to draft suitable documentation to present to the users a comprehensive description of the capabilities and restrictions affecting each individual aircraft. It was my task to ensure that I presented a 100% accurate document set, totalling in excess of 50 pages, on time to meet a strict flying programme. In this role I contributed substantially to the ongoing 'Airworthiness' of the aircraft.I established documentation procedures that are now also used by the RAF Forward Operating Squadrons, who regularly came to me for advice and support with their aircraft documents.
