Experience

    • Senior Marketing Designer
      • Jun 2023 - Feb 2024

I took a fresh set of design guidelines and built a consistent visual identity
as I applied the new brand to content. As a new brand in a sea of startups
I balanced needing to be visually distinct from others while establishing something recognizable of our own. I created bespoke pieces of content and templates so that we could produce more content efficiently with a small team.

    • Visual Designer II — Cisco Secure
      • Oct 2019 - Jun 2023

I was part of team that developed and launched the first iteration of the Cisco Secure brand to unify Cisco’s security product portfolio. Cisco has grown through many acquisitions which led to a wasteland of leftover visual identities. The challenge was to create a distinct brand expression while complimenting the main Cisco brand by manipulating existing color palettes, imagery, and iconography. To launch the new visual identity I produced a variety of marketing collateral using the new collage system including a trade show booth, social media, and an out-of-home campaign for RSA Conference 2020. Post-launch we also created a design system and brand guidelines to train the security marketing organization.

    • Visual Designer
      • Jun 2017 - Oct 2019

I create print and digital assets for both internal and external use. Externally, graphics I produce further brand awareness, build existing customer relations, and help communicate the need for security for products' end users. Internally I help promote company culture, and further speed and scalability while maintaining the trustworthy and people-centric principles of the Duo brand.

    • Graphics and Marketing Manager
      • Oct 2014 - Jun 2017
      • Ann Arbor, MI

I had my hand in all areas of Sweetwaters’ marketing and design. I strategized with the co-founder to create new public interest in our brand. In addition I managed our marketing initiatives (Product photography, in-store signage, print advertising, online ordering & presence, social media, e-newsletters, packaging design, etc.) while protecting brand standards. I also managed new franchisee marketing training, ensuring they had any needed marketing support for their cafes to succeed.

  • Ann Arbor Observer
    • Ann Arbor, Michigan
    • Graphic Designer
      • Jun 2014 - Dec 2014
      • Ann Arbor, Michigan

I worked for the busy week and a half before the press date each month helping to create memorable ads and format feature articles. I not only provided extra hands, but a creative and quick-thinking mind to problem solve last minute revisions from clients.

  • University of Michigan
    • Ann Arbor, Michigan
    • Fiber Arts Studio Monitor
      • Oct 2010 - Apr 2014
      • Ann Arbor, Michigan

My primary responsibility was helping students at the UM Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design to learn fiber and textile design techniques. As they learned the necessary skills I challenged them to strengthen the concept of their piece. Additionally, I assisted the Studio Coordinator in screen-printing demonstrations for larger groups of students. When students were not present I fixed sewing machines and managed the chemical dye inventory.

  • Brighton Area Schools
    • Brighton, Michigan
    • Graphic Production Assistant
      • Jun 2010 - Aug 2011
      • Brighton, Michigan

This was a small-scale production that printed materials for the Brighton Area School district. I was responsible for processing order forms from each school, calculating paper usage and waste, and preparing a plate for the offset press & shipping completed orders. I increased production efficiency by utilizing more of the parent sheet, and prioritizing orders to lessen the number of ink color changes on press. This saved not only paper & the time of the employee who was operating the press, but also saved money on the ink that would have been thrown out by changing colors.
