    During my time at SAOTA, I had the privilege of serving as a Material Researcher while completing my post-graduate studies. This role allowed me to immerse myself in the study and discovery of materials and processes from various global regions, and to share design considerations and product specifications with our esteemed design teams. I was also able to surface and exchange design philosophies and pragmatic socio-spatial practices, which not only deepened my understanding of architectural applications but also provided invaluable insights into the delivery of luxury products and ensuring customer satisfaction.

    Working as a student assistant at the Fabrication Laboratory of the Tshwane University of Technology's Department of Architecture and Industrial Design was a dynamic and enriching experience. I was responsible for training and safety, equipment cataloguing and dispatching, student engagement, as well as laser cutting and 3D printing. In this role, I actively contributed to the facilitation and collaboration with various departments, enabling a wide range of design fabrication activities. The environment was predominantly focused on woodworking, but it provided opportunities to engage with diverse fabrication processes. This experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also allowed me to play a key role in supporting the creative and innovative endeavors of the university's students and faculty.

    Before completing my master's degree in architecture, I had the privilege of working as a full-time architectural intern for the award-winning Architects of Justice. During this time, I worked closely with the three principal architects on various design projects from concept to construction. My responsibilities included tasks such as producing concept drawings, council drawings, and construction drawings. Additionally, I was entrusted with the 3D modeling, photo rendering, and post-production of most design projects. Notably, I had the professional honor of working closely with one of the principal architects on the Rubela Park Office building, which was awarded a GIFA award of commendation. This experience was instrumental in shaping my skills and passion for architecture, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such impactful and prestigious projects.

    As an award-winning technical drawer fresh out of high school, I joined Jack's Paint and Hardware to gain practical knowledge of market-related fixing and finishing methods and systems. During my time there, I specialized in paint specification and worked closely with construction materials such as cements, piping, electrical, fixing and fastening, timbers, PPE, and cleaning products. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the practical applications of materials and their specifications, which has proven invaluable in my architectural pursuits. Overall, my time at Jack's not only equipped me with valuable skills but also ignited my passion for the built environment, fostering a sense of warmth and enthusiasm for the design and construction industry.
