Guided the team to earn the Pacific Division championship for third year in a row since joining the organization. Worked primarily with defensemen and penalty kill units, reducing goals against each year, culminating in a club-best 191 goals against in 2013-14. Advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in club history in 2012-2013, and led the playoffs in penalty kills. Led the 2011-12 regular season in penalty kill. Top team in the league for fan attendance over the last five seasons, with a 29% increase last year gaining 800 new season seatholders. Developed numerous players called up to AHL.

Voted Best Defenseman by the media in 1985 and 1987. Stanley Cup Finalist in 1993. Drafted 30th overall in the second round of the 1979 NHL Draft.
