    Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Development Specialist identified, researched and pursued public, private, and corporate grant funding for sponsored projects, programs, outreach activities and services provided by the Mack Alive Community Resource Center. Developed new proposals and reapplications for competitive grants on the local, state and federal levels.• Assisted the Executive Director in making recommendations regarding grant opportunities , identified sources and designed and facilitated grant projects once funded. Provided copies and information to key personnel.• Helped orient Mack Alive staff and volunteers to the requirements of funded projects and communicated information on grant opportunities, funded projects and the grants approval process.DUTIES:1. Develop and complete proposals for grants to public, private, and corporate funding sources.2. Review requests for proposals/responses and conduct research on grant funding agencies (agency/fiscal guidelines, grant-making history, regulations, application requirements, etc.).3. Facilitate development of partnership proposals with other community-based organizations.4. Coordinate online submission of proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.5. Research and analyze program design components..6. Develop positive relationships with key individuals in the community and with grant making organizations.7. Maintain knowledge of local, state and national policies, and trends that affect grant funding.8. Coordinate the maintenance of files on grants written and funded.9. Perform special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested.10. Facilitate the implementation of grant projects such as the Neighborhood Happening with Detroit Design Festival, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources GreenCorps, the Butterfly Pollinator Garden, the installation of permanent art spaces and the ‘Days of Me’ and the ‘Art Alive’ project.
