    Bought a "fixer-upper" former summer estate in Bar Harbor. I turned it into the 2nd B&B Inn in Bar Harbor Maine, 1981. I designed the architectural addtions, did the interior decorating;wallpapered most rooms in the house; designed and installed the extensive landscaping and gardens; cooked breakfast for 15 years;CEO for 32 years; refurbished another building - added to the property as Mira Monte Suites; lastly supervised the new construction- on the property- Ashe Cottage (3 rental unis); I was on the marketing commitee of the BH Chamber of Commerce and have been on the board of the Maine Innkeepers Assn- a statewide lodging organization - about 16 years, Currenly at the Mira Monte inn & Suites, I am CEO, bookkeeper, marketing director, and greet guests and act as Concierge during the summer eason (May to November)

    I helped teachers with difficult students; taught classes in English and math. I worked with Judy Holmes to develop as new teaching method. "Game-Free Teaching" and together we taught this at the University of Southern Maine.

    I worked on a major project assessing intelligence in dogs - learned or inbred. This work with dogs, influenced my later career as a teacher. You can't keep dogs in -at recess; you can't send a report to their parents; you must begin with the skills they already have; and if you are mean to them, they will bite you. I figured that kids have to be as smart as dogs - and very sucessfully altered my teaching style to help the most difficult problem students, This method became the basis for "Game-Free Teaching" a new method that also worked.
