    I was contracted by Dimension Data for a second contract with them and placed on-site at Massmart, as a Senior IT Project Manager. I was assigned 100% of my capacity to the Strategic Connect Project, as the Infrastructure Stream Lead. I reported to the ITPMO and was governed by all the project methodologies and governance of Massmart/Walmart. However, because the priority and strategic nature of this project, I also reported the Business Lead on the Wholesale side of the Business and to its Vice President.I was responsible for the Full Project Life Cycle management of this strategic stream. I had full mandate to manage all and every aspect of this project. All 44 Stores in my project scope were delivery on deadline.I used MS Project On-Line, PWA and Fluid as my project governance digital tools. I reported to the Project Board, Exec and Sponsor for all day-to-day management of this project. I was responsible for the entire Stream and for everything pertaining to it. From vendors, to stock, to financials, to planning, to management of all resources, management of all plans, issues, risks, snag lists, CAB’s, decommissioning, all aspects of this Stream in their entirety.I had to develop an intimate knowledge of the wholesale Business workings of Massmart, because the scope of this project was to convert all the RSA Cash & Carry Stores and the Sunshine Stores, from ARCH to MOATS and SAP. I conducted a total rip & replace of every single aspect of IT Technology in some 43 South African Cash and Carry and Sunshine Stores.     I am an IT Project Manager at Mercantile Bank. In 2008 Mercantile embarked on a major strategic and complex project (named “Keystone”) intended to replace its core banking system. The total budget for the project was approximately R250 million. The project was divided into various streams and then into multiple projects. I project managed the Infrastructure and Transition projects streams. At its peak this amounted to 16 simultaneous projects. My projects covered Mercantile’s head office and branch environments. The scope of the projects ranged from building new production and disaster recovery data centres and consolidating and moving the existing data centres into the new ones to the rollout of Microsoft Exchange to the entire Bank to the establishment of new firewall protected DMZ’s for both the production and disaster recovery sites to preparing and rolling out new branch server environments to establishing SAN to SAN hardware level replication.
