Moevenpick known as a Restaurant and Food Production, as well as Winer Cellar & distribution company needed a good overhaul in its hotel division, making that difference exactly in this speciality, complemented by creative and more contemporary design experiences. With its well spread and popular set up in Europe, ME and Africa the group was well set to expand into Asia and China at later stage as the one true SWISS hotel company with highly accented Swiss touches in its gastronomy throughout.

With the only Hardrock Hotel existing in Las Vegas at the time, Hpl's owner saw a potential to expand a new generation of lifestyle hotels, catering to a clientele that was looking for themed and fun experience. Being given the role to not only set up and take the concept to the next height, setting design, a rocking culture and fun policies that all result in unforgettable guest experiences was a real break through and complement to the hard Rock cafes worldwide. This new trend was successful from day one and without doubt set the tone for future lifestyle hotels which every chain eventually had to invent and implement one way or another.
