Working at Crown Immigration helped me hone relevant skills in problem solving, oral communication and listening, organisation and management, and networking. I would prepare for different cases by doing immense research, thinking critically, and studying relevant case studies. Additionally, this experience prepared me to deal with clients of all backgrounds, while improving my interpersonal and leadership skills. I took many courses in professional writing, grammar, and proofreading throughout my academic studies as I realised the importance of having such literacy skills in the legal field. This was acknowledged by Crown Immigration as I was often asked to draft and proofread the work of other immigration law consultants, which would require one to articulate and express ideas in a coherent and professional manner. Good literacy skills are an integral part of being a good consultant and/or lawyer if you want to increase the chances of resolving your petitions, inquiries, and other client-related issues in a timely manner. Proofreading is also essential as applications to the court are usually denied if too many errors are present. I am grateful for all I learned at Crown Immigration Corporation and I was delighted to have been able to apply the knowledge learned in a professional setting. Thank to the whole team who are now supporting me on my journey to becoming a fully licensed lawyer!
