    I think of myself as a thrill-seeker who was been bitten by the travel bug at an early age. I love new places and crave new and different experiences (and food!!) Writing my first picture book was a cathartic way of reflecting upon some of my crazier past adventures in order to prepare for a life-changing one: motherhood.I’m a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators) and have written for the San Diego Chapter’s newsletter, the Valley Roadrunner & Boulevard Magazine, and continue to write picture books for children.

    Point the Way Foundation is a California non-profit organization dedicated to supporting charitable endeavors for the families and children of civilian and military communities both locally and nationwide. I help plan and organize events and activities for the foundation. My brother is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and has gone through multiple deployments, so obviously the fact that the foundation’s core fundraising efforts go directly to military families gives me warm fuzzies.

    As Event Promotion & Publications Manager for the Western Region, I was responsible for all aspects of our conferences, meetings and retreats. I signed all the contracts booking the venues, reserving the meeting space, creating the rooming lists/ booking the sleeping rooms, contracting outside venders for audio visual and catering, and designed each event’s promotional items, programs, stage footprint, display tables, trophies, awards, banners, PowerPoints, etc. for groups ranging in group size (executives up to 1500 people) and event duration.
