    Ku'i, or poi pounding, is the traditional method of making poi (the staple food of the Hawaiian people). The consumption and production of poi encourages local agriculture, sustainable water usage, increases the health of the land. Poi and pa'i'ai (undiluted poi) can compliment almost any food, and have an unmistakable texture and taste. The club connects students and teachers with similar interests. My job as the president of the ku'i club is to:Coordinate club ku'i events-- organize luaus, bring in new people, buy taro, find meeting spaces, collect money, and to help during events.Connect with cultural educators to teach students about Hawaiian culture and sustainability through poi pounding.
