    Street Child is currently working on a series of projects in Nepal to rebuild schools and WASH facilities in areas severely affected in the 2015 earthquake, to ensure all children in these areas have the opportunity to access quality education in a safe and secure environment. I am involved in the completion of the construction of Transitional Learning Centres (TLCs) in the district of Nuwakot. My responsibilities currently include providing technical advice and knowledge where required and working in collaboration with various partner organisations (local and international) to ensure works are carried out as safely and effectively as possible all whilst working to the required quality and programme.

    After completing the graduate scheme I was offered the position of site engineer at London Power Tunnels, a large infrastructure project. Balfour Beatty are installing over one hundred 400kV cables underground in order to provide lasting and more sustainable infrastructure across London. My role as site engineer involves providing specialist knowledge and support to work streams where needed as well as ensuring that the quality of the works carried out is in accordance with specification and industry best practice.

    Accepted onto an 18 months civil engineering graduate scheme comprising of three placements- Design, Commercial and Operations. This involves moving across the country for each placement and working towards chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers.Operations- Site Engineer, Eakring T Pylon Test Line, Eakring, England September 2014- February 2015• T Pylons are a brand new project by National Grid to replace existing lattice towers with the more attractive T Pylons to change the image of energy transmission as we know it. • My role as a site engineer involved managing the works on site, documenting the works in order to produce the first set of work instructions for T Pylons. I also had to work alongside media teams and high profile visitors to the site as this project was the first of its kind. Commercial- Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Cumbernauld, Scotland March 2015- August 2015 • As an estimator I was responsible for tender submissions for cabling projects in Scotland and the north east. This involved visiting sites, talking to clients and liaising with subcontractors to ensure the submission was competitively priced and of a high standard. • As a quantity surveyor I was responsible for managing costs and documentation on site as well as dealing with contractual agreements with subcontractors.Design- Design Engineer, Derby, England September 2015- February 2016• Overhead Line Design team member. Roles include foundation design, Line design and involvement in a number of innovation projects.After the completion of my graduate scheme I hope to obtain a permanent position as a site engineer to enhance my technical skills as an engineer and get an insight into project management.
