Designed a comprehensive neuroimaging biomarkers study of agressive behaviour in patients with schizophrenia and first episode psychosis.Key Achievements: • Obtained the research study ethical approval from the IRB according to the GCP & TCPS2 guidelines• Implemented an MRI protocol using state-of-the-art methods for the assessment of differences in structural and functional brain connectivity. Protocol consisted of anatomical, functional (BOLD), diffusion-weighted (DTI), and resting-state MRI sequences• Wrote a Discovery Fund grant for early detection of aggression in first episode psychosis

Technical lead in methodological aspects of ongoing projects; judging the reliability of data acquisition and effectively using available onsite technologies to facilitate the success in investigating the aging brain.Specific Achievements:• Successfully set up an optimized experimental neuroimaging paradigm and scanning parameters for data acquisition quality assurance• Co-supervised 2 PhD students in preparing their ethics approval, pilot study, and implementing experimental protocols for fMRI and fNIRS imaging paradigms to study the effects of physiological and structural age-related changes on hemodynamic-based imaging data

The goal of this intensive two-week Multimodality Short Course (MMSC) workshop was to demonstrate the ways in which a large variety of techniques (e.g. fMRI, DTI, DSI, MRS, PET, EEG, MEG, NIRS, DOT, TMS) are being applied to questions in human brain function. Activities included:• design of a variety of experiments• initiation to a variety of software tools • demonstrations of the techniques in actionand selected keynote lectures to exemplify particular experimental domains in which many of these techniques have been brought to bear on a specific problem.

A multimodal brain imaging (MRI-fNIRS) investigation of cognitive aging, using Diffuse Optical Imaging; development and validation of its application framework in clinical neuropsychology.Key Achievements:• Contributed to building a data processing pipeline (GUI toolbox); methods consisting in integrating anatomical (MRI) and neurophysiological signals with functional NIRS data, acquired from different imaging modalities.• Designed a semantic decision language task with the aim of localizing neural underpinnings of abstract versus concrete words processing patterns changing with age.• Successfully assessed the effects of cortical thickness and cerebral blood flow on the task-induced neuronal response to study the impact of cognitive reserve (e.g. education, intellectual engagement through lifespan) on behavioural performance.• Analyzed time series data by applying regression models, analysis of variance and statistical parametric mapping to find group-level significant statistical differences.
