Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Established KPIs to manage performance and expense of a maintenance team. The team had been consistently over budget and under-performing in all areas. Overtime was reduced by 20%, PM Backlog was reduced to less than 5%, and variance to budget was reduced to 10%. Break-downs were reduced by 10% and equipment availability improved to almost 100%.Leadership and Organization - Overcame a serious break-down to get 120K bpd operation back up and in full production in only 21 days. A distillation column exploded and all the debris was in the bottom of the tower. Formed three teams to simultaneously focus on debris removal, replacement part procurement, and obtaining the necessary tools. Organized everyone into shifts to ensure repair operations ran 24 hours per day. Recognized for leadership and results.
