I founded this organization to highlight the contributions of professional women who were coming in great numbers to the cable television industry in the explosive 1970s. The goal was to give them visibility and position them to get pipelined into management positions in the industry. Our national educational sessions in conjunction with major business schools used teams and case studies to help members grow in their careers. WIC grew to 24 chapters with 4000 members (including 13% men) nationwide during those early years under my direction and has enjoyed national and international growth since then. By 2020, WICT had grown to 10,000 members and the number of women executives in the industry has grown exponentially.
