- Deployed to Portland, Oregon under the Emergency Support Function #11 authority to assist one of the largest vaccination centers (OCC, PDX, and Hillsboro) in the US. While on site, the USDA supported give over 350,000 vaccinations. - Worked between 8-12hr shifts as a greeter, way finder through the facility, helped register patients through health portal, checked insurance and identification, provided translation help from Spanish and Portugues to English and collaborated with Oregon National Guard to ensure that an average of 6,700 people per day receive their vaccination. - Before USDA arrived, the OCC was vaccinating an average of less than 5000 people per day. In March 2021, after USDA arrived on side, the OCC increased vaccinations to an average of approximately 6700 per day. In April, the average number increased to approximately 7900 per day. Over 8000 vaccinations were given at the OCC in a single day five times between March 31st and April 26th.- The most vaccinations given at the OCC on any day was 8,093, on April 26th. The second most was 8076, on April 8th.- The one day that USDA worked at all three locations (OCC, PDX, and Hillsboro), a combined total of 14,074 vaccinations were given. (April 11th.)

Served as an Education Peace Corp Volunteer in the province of Gaza, Mozambique. Unfortunately, I was part of the group of PCVs that were evacuated due to COVID-19 in March 2020. The following are the roles I had in this position. Co-coordinator of Local Community Health Initiative:• Co-facilitated and re-established “HIV/SIDA…Baleka la Bilene!” [translated: “HIV/AIDS”…Get of Bilene!”] with my local counterpart-an initiative dedicated to using local resources and local language, xiChangana, as vehicles to reduce the rates of HIV/AIDS infection and death in Bilene. • Started to train and form more than 50 students health activist from grades 8th to 10th to sensitize and educate local audience on HIV/AIDS and early pregnancy prevention though song, dance, theater skits and evidence-based informational speeches and presentations. English and Technology Secondary Teacher:• Creatively linked TEFL Curriculum to the Mozambican Secondary Education Curriculum, prepared weekly lesson plans that integrated a range of skill building activities in listening, speaking, reading and writing. • Created a classroom structure and routine that encouraged student-centered learning with an emphasis on gender equality, empowerment and active participation. • Provided opportunities to develop group collaboration skills and explore higher education options.• Implemented a whole person learning approach to meet student specific needs. • Effectively transmitted practical and theoretical computer literacy using the three computers available.• Gave wide-range evaluation opportunities, these include individual assessments, take-home exercises, open-book exams and group projects. • Exchanged language teaching methodologies and classroom management strategies with Mozambican teachers.
