Key authority on there being no liability if there is no foreseeable risk of the injury.- dependency claim of wife and three young children following suicide of high earning husband after discharge from psychiatric ward. Involved sensitive matrimonial issues. - Another high value claim concerned the inability of a very successful banker to work due to the wrong diagnosis of TB when patient has lymphoma and immune disorder sustaining serious physical and psychological damage.- medical council responses and various hearings. - psychotherapy council including the alleged long standing abuse of a patient by a male therapist. Involved whistleblowing issues - long standing and high profile inquiry concerning high rate of ligature and fatal overdoses on methadone at a female prison. I represented the head of prison healthcare who was a very experienced registered nurse.- I personally represented various nurses who required separate representation at inquests when there was a conflict of interest with their employer.

    Having undertaken a summer placement I was offered a training contract. My four seats were in;-- employers/public liability - professional indemnity - clinical negligence/regulatory - catastrophic injury I was offered three jobs having applied for three NQ roles. I chose clinical negligence having already completed various vacation placements in this area at Pannones and Irwin Mitchell.Whilst a trainee I set up a charity committee at BLM and I organised a charity walk in the Lake District for various offices within BLM, which was well attended by over 100 staff members. I was also active on the social committee and organised many summer events and the Christmas ball in London.
