    I chose to stay at home and rehabilitate our second adopted daughter from India who was partially deaf and is blind due to Lebers Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) - which has taken much longer than expected but she is now doing very well at CA School for the Blind and for the first time since she came home, I feel like I can work again! (Her adoption turned our lives sideways!) I also support individuals and families experiencing vision loss, offer career counseling and student success support, families in process to adopt, and I fundraise for great causes to include Foundation Fighting Blindness. My husband, Gordon Shattock, and I co-founded the Foothill College International Student Connection, and I co-founded The Indian Student Association and we ongoingly host international students in our home through the International Student Placement Program (ISP) in Los Altos welcoming students from: France, Chile, China, Iran, Fiji, Denmark, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, India and Indonesia.
