Emoyeni Collaborations is a research coaching and training company. I am employed to develop and design conceptual models produced by postgraduate students and academic researchers. Additionally, I craft multimedia design assets for conference presentations and posters. My work was primarily supported and supervised by Professor Maritz at UNISA. I am responsible for assessment and feedback on submissions, and I pride myself on providing my students with current and industry-related resources and examples. My relationship with Uni4 started with the proposal and framework development of a User Interface Design Learning Pathway. Currently, the Design of the UI Design Pathways is being conceptualised, researched and developed.

My current teaching portfolio at Vega School includes second and third-year Graphic Design second-year Illustration. I additionally taught second and third-year Design Culture Theory across Graphic, Digital and Interior Design. I facilitate short design thinking, career readiness and soft skills courses for the Graphic Design, Digital Design and Brand Communication and Copywriting undergraduates. I am actively involved in planning, preparation and facilitation of teaching and learning in blended spaces, assessment, course revision and feedback.At Vega School, I remain committed to improving my student's portfolio's, networking opportunities and career readiness. I facilitated two short courses – 'Career opportunities' and 'Entrepreneurship and Work Readiness'- for the exit level Graphic, Digital Design and Brand Communication and Copywriting students. Additionally, in collaboration with Mandy Speechly (Copywriting Navigator) and Anka Joubert (Digital Design Navigator), we mentored, supported and prepared various graphic design, digital design, copywriting and multidisciplinary submissions for the Loeries, Pendoring Awards, D&AD and Creative Conscience Awards. In my capacity as the primary Graphic Design Lecture, I have supported students in crafting submissions for ISTD and Goldpack Student Awards.In 2020 two of my students were finalists in the Pendoring Awards, in which Carla Zan's Illustrated Book received a Silver Award. Three of my third years were finalists in the 2020 Student Loerie Awards and Chante Harding was a finalist in the Goldpack Student Awards. In collaboration with the creative department, three student print champaigns were finalists in the Pendoring Awards in 2021 and six students were finalists in the Loeries. One of my proudest accomplishments was the Silver Loerie awarded to Khaleel Khan for his Luna Menstrual Cup packaging which also received a special mention in the Goldpack Student Awards.

Other key performance areas include Curriculum and Lesson Planning; Development, Preparation and Presentation of Teaching and Learning Material; Assessment, Moderation and Review; Student Support; Research and Communication Design.At exit level, I actively engaged with providing networking opportunities and career readiness. To provide an example, in 2018, the Graphic and Multi-Media Department hosted Johannesburg Behance Portfolio Day, and I ran career readiness workshops in collaboration with a coaching organisation, A Launchpad. Providing exposure for my students is a crucial consideration, and as such, student work is consistently submitted to design awards. In 2019 two of my third years received Top Talent awards in Adobe Design Achievers. Additionally, both a second-year multimedia project and honours major project were considered as finalists in the Loeries.

I primarily collaborated with The Collective Brand and Karien Wilson to design, develop and build websites as part of the company service package. I primarily worked on the branding and design of Key West Shopping Centre but also created design deliverables for 14th Ave, Festival Mall and Village Square. My key responsibilities included: conceptualizing visuals based on requirements; creating traditional renderings and digital images and layouts; as well as testing graphics across various media and outdoor touchpoints.

South African Fashion Week (SAFW), previously Sanlam SA Fashion Week is South Africa’s business to business fashion platform aiming to grow local talents. At SAFW I had the opportunity to meet, learn from and collaborate with other creatives supporting fashion week. The internship furthermore provided mentoring by Lucilla Booysen, the founder of SAFW, and a key figure in South African fashionMy key duties and responsibility included: Ideation and design of print and digital materials, specifically an invitation to- and a booklet covers for the 2008 SAFW Exhibition. I was also able to design and present magazine advertisements for fashion brands SODA and Kaelo. In addition to adhering to brand guidelines and completing projects according to specifications and deadline. I necessary received feedback from the Creative Director and implemented changes and was required to retouch and manipulate images, prepare files for print and assemble final presentation material for printing as needed.

At Centro Sport's, my key responsibility was desktop publishing, adhering to brand guidelines and completing projects according to specifications and deadlines. My other duties included: editorial, typographic and layout design, page proofs checks; Collaborating with journalist, marketers, editors and conferring directly with clients; editing, proofing and quality assurance of peripheral graphics.
