Policy planning involves the application of research and analytical methods, the results of which are used in policymaking in several ways: ► To promote the mission of the Division by conducting in-depth analyzes of issues that span the adult criminal justice system and juvenile justice system, determining the system's long-range needs and recommending policy priorities and advising and assisting the Governor and the General Assembly in developing plans, policies, programs, and legislation that is data-driven to improve the system's effectiveness. ► To monitor key monthly indicators in an effort to identify emerging issues for policymakers to improve the criminal justice system. ► To conduct research, analysis & evaluation in response to a specific question or to determine the effect and cost of a proposed policy under consideration.► To support a legislative committee or special task force convened to study a broad policy area. Examples of this type of effort are the Sentencing Task Force and the Criminal Justice Policy Advisory Committee.Successfully improved the process for the recruitment and hiring of professional staff for the new Criminal Justice Policy and Planning Division (CJPPD).Coordinate collaborative work teams to develop population forecasts and to support policy options to reduce prison and jail overcrowding and overall cost effectiveness.

As the primary IT programmer, managed, designed and developed the Connecticut Online Licensing Center, CT-CLIC.com, as part of the Governor’s initiative to promote High Efficiency Licensing in the State. Coordinated and fostered a continued public/private partnerships with CERC/Smart Start staff and external media sources to promote a more business and customer friendly environment. Activities included the hands-on technical coding and construction of the web site, planning, policy development, information management, ongoing negotiations and public relations, technical support and training. Provided IT support and technical consulting on many other State Internet technology initiatives. On October 17, 2002 received statewide recognition of achievement for CT-CLIC and awarded the Silver CQIA Innovation Prize from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership, Inc.

Serve as a liaison between the State and the American Red Cross as part of the Governor's Unified Command team stationed at the State of Connecticut's Emergency Operation Center (EOC) in the Hartford State Armory. And provide communication links between disaster relief operations and the Disaster Operation Center for the American Red Cross, as an Emergency Communications Response Vehicle (ECRV) Operator. ECRVs are operated by volunteer staff working as needed unpaid.There are only 12 ECRVs across the nation. Other American Red Cross roles include on-call for DST, DAT, local fires and ERV, mass care operatons. Volunteer since 1978 Louisville, Kentucky.
