Jan 1993 - Oct 2011
Supervise and train DMPK staff on all of the robotic and mass spec instrumentation. Design, program and validate robotic methods for In Vitro support to all Wilmington Discovery projects. Drug distribution specialist for DMPK. Provide bioanalytical support for problem compounds. Maintenance and calibration of all six mass specs and eight robots.Designed, programmed and validated automated assays for Protein and brain binding( 96 well format), Pgp permeability assay (96 well format), a versatile cyp phenotyping assay, plasma stability (96 well format)Designed templates for all of the above assays ensuring error free results.Designed, in collaboration with Millipore a direct feed, type 1, degassed water system which supplies an continuous degassed water supply to multiple robotic systems using only tap water. This system decreased processing time by 25% and signifacantly improved safety. This instrument is now sold commercially by Millipore.Negotiated with big ticket vendors to reduce prices on repetative purchases and instituted multiple cost saving measures which averaged over $100,000.00 yearly.Programmed a functioning cell feeding system which supported Pgp assay.Designed and fabricated a multipositioned disposable trough system for robots with peltier cooling and electric heating, which greatly improved assay by approximately 25% and allowed multiple assays to run using a common deck view.
