Tata Group is the largest retail Steel Manufacturer in the UK. The Internal Logistics team is responsible for the management of all Internal Rail Operations and associated assets at its Port Talbot site. In conjunction with the Central Health & Safety Department, manage, control and ensure legislative and corporate compliance of all health and safety requirements on behalf of the Internal Logistics Department. • Manage and control all departmental Health and Safety Management System objectives in support of business compliance with HSE requirements and legislation• Champion and manage asbestos compliance and registration for all Internal Logistics assets including transport systems and buildings • Responsible for creating and managing departmental policies in support of THSMS including Fire, Local emergency, accident and incident investigation and Learning from events • Embedding safety solutions. Design and introduction of standards, compliance and KPI suites, reviewed in audit and PDCA cycles.• Creating a modern and streamlined Safety organisation by analysing and understanding key areas of expertise and aligning them with strategic operations whilst simultaneously implementing Lean Safety systems.• Undertaking a cultural and behavioural change programme to reduce incidents and accidents whilst improving operational and safety performance• POC for departmental senior leadership team to advise, co-ordinate and develop Tata Central Safety requirements. • Manage the co-ordination of departmental training and development in safety systems and standards, including departmental safety days, safety initiatives, SHEF courses, Process Safety awareness, Journey engagement, MOC’s, HAZOP studies and any other relevant identified processes.
