    Little Jasmine is a Brighton institution, it is the place to receive massage and beauty treatments in Brighton and Hove (there are three sites in total across the city). I am so proud to have worked here. The management and team work to the highest standards I have ever known, should I return to Brighton I would love to work here again.The focus of my role in this day spa was to give excellent massage treatments as well as facials and see clients through packages that included a sauna and scrub for example.Being well presented, friendly and energetic to give treatments tailored to the clients needs. Working in tandem with the receptionists who helped organise the day, seeing clients in and through treatment to them leaving. Ensuring the opening of the rooms and daily housekeeping working in a team to have the rooms prepared always for the next guest.Building rapport always with clients, massage is intimate as it is relaxing, being undressed for some people only hits them when they are on the couch it is so important to allow the client to feel safe and secure to enable to the true relaxation and benefits of massage to come about. In spas there is only a small window where you can get to know your clients, as I am amiable and personable by nature and also well taught in my knowledge of holistic therapies I found I was often able to get to the point and really give exceptional treatments to a variety of clients.

    Working in this fabulous spa was really an eye opening experience to learn and be part of a functioning hive of hospitality wonder.My main role here was massage therapist, to give massage treatments ranging from full body, head massage, body scrubs and facials to name but a few. The product house was Elemental Herbology, an innovative high end beauty product company harnessing ancient Chinese medicine with modern day, eco friendly beauty product innovations. It was part of the role to upsell the products used during the treatments, sharing the knowledge of the product from ingredients to results with the clients. I'm proud to say I made sales every month and was part of the team that broke the Spas record for sales in Jan/Feb 2020.Building rapport with the clietele was also paramount as the spa itself was part of a hotel so there would be visiting guests as well as regular clients from in and around the local area. Greeting the client to meet them is where you make your first impression, I really enjoyed developing this aspect of my skills as gaining a persons trust and affability can lead to sales, repeat custom and over all a happy and relaxed client.Away from massage work itself I also worked closely with the rest of the spa team to ensure smooth running of the reception, presentation of the spa and relaxation areas and spa kitchen for lite bites and drinks for guests. I also made sales from reception talking guests through products and showing them the products etc if they were having a look.Other back of house jobs with my spa colleagues like helping change over treatment rooms, making sure enough towels and products were in the treatment rooms.It was a delight to work here and unfortunately due to the outbreak of the pandemic I was made redundant in July 2020.

There are many holistic practices throughout the world some with ancient origins and newer ones are being developed too.Holistic therapies look at the client from emotional, mental, physical and spiritual levels, then apply a mixture of reiki and energy work and massage- body work or touch therapies to give the client a wonderfully relaxing experience which can be very beneficial and effective in the long term for all round well being.
