    Elected by my fellow faculty as Chair of the Business Administration Dept. effective July 1st, 2012. Acted as the liaison between faculty and administration representing 55 continuing and term faculty members. Although the position was multifaceted, duties included faculty recruitment, teaching appointment recommendations, problem solving and conflict resolution. Acted as the contact and mentor to new and less experienced faculty.

    Laura was a Professor at the Okanagan School of Business at Okanagan College. In this role Laura instructed in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program in the areas of Strategic Management, Human Resources Management and Tourism. As an active member of her local business community she is very aware of the challenges facing businesses today and strives to help new and existing businesses develop and expand. Laura is a Past President of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, past Director with the British Columbia Wine Authority and Past-President with KCR Community Resources. In addition, From 2102 to 2018 Laura was the elected Faculty Representative on the Okanagan College Board of Governors. In 2023 Laura was elected to the Board of Governors of the BC Chamber of Commerce. She also sits on the local executive of the Okanagan chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD Okanagan).One of her keen areas of interest is personal development coaching and Laura is fortunate to have many opportunities in the Okanagan to mentor young adults in areas such as effective speaking and competing in business competitions.
