After directly observing the need for long-term support for survivors of trafficking and slavery around the UK, I founded The Snowdrop Project, which quickly gained recognition for its pioneering work in government, research and policy as the first organisation to tackle this issue. I have taken the charity from £0 income to just under £1m, with 24 staff, 85 volunteers, and supporting over 200 beneficiaries a year. Through Snowdrop, I have helped to change and lengthen the entitlements of support for survivors of trafficking in the UK, winning various awards and authoring national guidance. I am a well-respected voice in the South Yorkshire charity sector and the UK anti-trafficking sector, and a go-to person for the BBC and government to provide insight. As part of the strategic income generation plan for Snowdrop, I led on the purchase of a 5-story building to provide stability for the charity and rental space for other charities in the city. I now oversee the tenancy of 7 other charities and asset management.
