After Macadams Manufacturing was over I joined Parow Steel Service Centre, a medium sized close corporation to provide an outsourced manufacturing service to Macadams. Here I designed and fabricated anything from build-in-braais, trailers, steel staircases and even lifts to hoist motor vehicles. After a year with the company the owner invited me to go into a venture with him called Punchwizard. I had a 50% share in this venture and would run it in it's entirety from marketing the business, to sourcing the clients, calculating the costing and development of products and services through to sales, buying and delivery of goods.Duties I performed as Technical Sales Representative Conducted cold canvassing, field marketing and carried out site surveys;Managed regional and key customer accounts;Analyzed the market, using trade directories and other sources, and put together lists of possible customers;Kept up to date with the organization's products and those of competitors;Worked out customers' needs and explained and demonstrated products or services to them;Negotiated prices ,provided quotes and recorded orders;Arranged for the delivery of goods, installation of equipment and the provision of services;Reported to sales management on sales made, the marketability of products and customer feedback;Contributed to sales planning and strategy development;Traveled for and on behalf of the company within the bounds of the country when required. My Partner's mentor-ship was invaluable and many new possibilities became a reality. Even though Punchwizard was a commercial success I left the company in 2002 to branch out into Information Technology.
