    As a Site Services Technician, I am responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the plant machinery and equipment associated with the steam, water, and auxiliary systems that Tatua use to make milk products.A C H I E V E M E N T S SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE - Employing my vast background of related engineering knowledge and experience, I provided expert advice regarding five bore head upgrades and the impending reservoir upgrades, including carrying out repairs to the bore heads, which has saved the company thousands of dollars (due to not needing to outsource additional expertise).QUALITY + COMPLIANCE - Identified an area of non-compliance on site and acted swiftly - offering recommendations and supporting critical change by helping to implement immediate remedial rectification. MANAGED HIGHER DUTIES - After witnessing my first ‘winter shut’, I successfully organised the majority of 2022’s winter shut, which was successful. By supporting the Service Manager - liaising effectively with independent contractors, I ensured the efficient running of plant and machinery. PROJECT WORK - Participated as the principal team member in numerous plant-wide projects aimed to safely isolate units/sections of plant to carry out critical maintenance during plant downtimes and shuts.CROSS-TEAM SUPPORT - Going above and beyond the scope of my role, I regularly help other teams as required, providing engineering and safety advice and support for a broad range of site projects. IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES - I successfully problem-solved to improve the efficiency of the plant by using my knowledge of boilers, maintenance, and health and safety practices.

    As the Site Services Operator, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the steam, water, and auxiliary systems’ power equipment that provides power to the Open Country Dairy site. In addition to this core role, I took on additional responsibilities providing on-site health and safety support.A C H I E V E M E N T S CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT - Employing my vast engineering knowledge, I provided comprehensive boiler operation and water treatment training to supervisors, as well as writing and implementing all Site Services Safe Operating Procedures. In addition to upskilling staff to ensure they were confident in the safe operation and maintenance of the boilers and water treatment plant on site, and improving site health and safety, my work in this area saved the company considerable outsourcing costs. DATA-DRIVEN RISK ADVISORY - Audited the organisations ‘permit to work’ systems and provided detailed reports/advisory to the site manager (covering risk assessment, the establishment of safety protocols, and recommendations to improve communications and oversight to minimise environment, health, safety, and sustainability risks). SYSTEM DESIGN + IMPLEMENTATION - Designed and implemented reporting and logging systems from scratch to ensure Open Country Dairy’s operator obligations aligned with various customer and industry requirements (i.e., MPI, Halal, Kosher). This work also ensured that when the business was audited, it had the correct proof of accountability. IMPROVED PLANT EFFICIENCY - Carrying out a broad range of diagnostic procedures to identify inefficiencies and make changes using my knowledge of boilers and maintenance management practices, in addition to commissioning the building of a new boiler, I was instrumental in upgrading the water treatment plant, the reverse osmosis plant, the air compressors, and the ammonia-chilled water plant.
