Kwasi Dartey-Baah is a Professor of Leadership and Organisational Development of the University of Ghana Business School, University of Ghana, Legon. He is an astute academic with huge experience in industry. He is a Chartered Urban Traffic Engineer, a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Institution of Highways and Transport in the UK and the Ghana Institution of Engineering. He has extensive experience (in industry and academia) in the design of urban transportation measures, project management, human resource management and institutional development. He has managed multi-million pounds projects in the United Kingdom working with leading consultants like Colin Buchanan where he was Associate (Partner) and JMP Consulting. He is a seasoned project professional with hands–on expertise with a proven track record of delivering and managing high profile projects in the United Kingdom. He has experience in managing multi-skilled professionals and trained a number of engineers for chartered status with emphasises on project management, leadership and organisational development. His first two degrees are in engineering from KNUST, Ghana and Imperial College, London and holds a PhD in Leadership and Human Resource Management and Development from Newburgh, USA and Canterbury University, United Kingdom and another PhD in Project Management from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He is an academic, consultant on project management, leadership and organisational development matters. He is a lecturer in the Department of Organisational & Human Resource Management of the University of Ghana Business School. He lectures in leadership, project management, organisational behaviour and organisational development. OVERVIEW OF EXPERIENCEAn Associate in Colin Buchanan & Partners, London with over 15 years professional work experience. Kwasi has been involved since 1998 in the design and project management of traffic engineering, transportation planning and urban transport projects for two international consultants and a local authority in the United Kingdom. He has worked on projects for strategic clients including Transport for London (TfL), Corporation of London, London Bus Priority Network (LBPN), London Bus Initiative (LBI), Centre for Cycling Excellence and Network Rail. Kwasi has also worked with the Network Management Department of London Borough of Newham providing guidance and advice on local government procedures, transport planning guidance and statutory processes to ensure delivery of projects to programme and budget and have a good understanding of processes required to secure approvals and funding for projects. He is involved in financial and business development initiatives for Colin Buchanan and manage multi-skilled professionals in schemes delivery and mentor graduate engineers as part of their career development for chartered status. Currently Kwasi is the project manager for two high profile multi-million pound schemes: Hammersmith Gyratory and Blackfriars Station Permanent Traffic Management in the City involving urban regeneration and public transport improvement initiatives.
